The team over at Classic Kicks recently caught up with our good friend and iconic photographer Ricky Powell for a great interview. For those who don’t know, we’ve been collaborating with Ricky for years. One of our most recent collaborations with Ricky was a collection of t-shirts, one of which has the iconic image of Basquiat and Warhol that Ricky captured in New York City in the early 80’s. In this interview, Ricky explains how he got to take that picture, along with a bunch of other legendary photos he’s taken throughout his career. Our favorite store in Austin, Texas recently put together a video of the greatest moments that have happened at their shop. From celebrities like Big Sean and 2Chainz all the way to Timbaland and Raekwon, Collective Status Boutique keeps a dope roster flowing through their store on a regular basis. Checkout the Akomplice crew in the mix during Raekwon’s segment. The press photos we used for the Raekwon Pelican Belt collaboration were taken at Status, and a quick behind the scenes glimpse is given in this video. Also, make sure you peep Rita Ora rocking the Collective Status Boutique x Akomplice “The Austin Chronic” snapback in her segment as well! Much love to the homies over at Collective Status.

Akomplice took over at this year’s Agenda Long Beach Tradeshow. With a unique approach on our presentation and a great reception from the crowd, we surpassed the great impact that we had initially planned on making. Filling a 20ft by 20ft space is harder than it sounds… and takes a lot of work. We took a sexy girl, a projector and a white background and made magic.  We projected images of our new designs onto the models before we began our Fall and Summer 2014 presentation.  Checkout some of the images of our booth below and make sure to peep some more action from the tradeshow after the jump. Thanks to everybody who made it out and was able to be a part of making this a great year at Agenda Long Beach!

We continue to experiment, explore and innovate with our Holiday 2013 collection. This experimental ethos is evidenced by our foray into sublimation prints, which span vertically and horizontally in a multitude of hues across a selection of t-shirts and hoodies. Another area of innovation is the black tie-dye hoodie, and also noteworthy is the item called “Gradients Of Smoke,” which shows a girl blowing smoke and uses our hyperlight ink that changes from grey hues to a multitude of colors when placed in sunlight. We are also proud to release our capsule collection with Michael Cina dubbed “The Black Ocean,” which uses the artists’ piece “We Will All Be Changed.” For those new to his work, Michael Cina is an artist and internationally renowned Creative Director who helms his own creative boutique and an award-winning design studio.

The breadth of the collection also extends to a fresh selection of 5 panels, speckled beanies and a down parka for the chilly months ahead. The collection is now available on our webstore.
