Akomplice x Panda Bicycles: Into the Wild

July 24th, 2014

Inspired by both the aesthetic and regenerative qualities of bamboo, we reached out to Colorado cohort Panda Bicycles to create something wild. On the heels of their collab with Marc Jacobs, Panda Bicycles was excited to join forces with us to design a street-savvy version of their “The One” fixed-gear bike. The unique design makes for a smoother ride than traditional metal-only frames due to the flex afforded by the bamboo. Fun Fact about bamboo is that it has the ability to grow up to 4 feet within 24 hours. It also has a higher compressive strength than wood, brick or concrete and a tensile strength that rivals steel. We believe the bike sports a truly unique design with the “Into the Wild” theme manifesting across the frame with a white base offset by stark animal stripes. If you’re in the market for a new fixie, be sure to be swift with your clicks when the bike drops Sunday, July 27th at 9:00 AM EST on the our Webstore as it is seeing a very limited release. Price tag: $2,500.

Akomplice x Agenda NYC Bucket

July 22nd, 2014

We were honored to do the Agenda NYC bucket hat. Every Agenda trade show, a couple of the top brands are tapped to do an exclusive not for sale, show only Agenda hat, that is given away to the top stockists and taste-makers that make it out to the show. The hat is made by Flex Fit for their special BSCMP project. The bucket features passport-esque stamps all over, with the motto “You ain’t got enough stamps in your passport” woven on the front label. We got Mass Prod here rocking the Akomplice x Agenda Bucket at a private airfield…Peruse the rest of the photos after the jump.

Akomplice x Mitchell & Ness 10 Year Capsule

July 9th, 2014

Ten years ago to the month, life was breathed into the first Akomplice designs. To celebrate this momentous anniversary, we are releasing a special capsule with the famed 110 year old heritage sportswear brand: Mitchell & Ness. You can find Akomplice’s birth year, 2004, featured front and center on the cut and sew tank tops. The tagline “made in the woods” references our humble beginnings in the mountains of Colorado. While the collection celebrates our 10 year anniversary, the theme harkens back to 1994, 10 years prior to the inception of Akomplice, paying homage to an era that inspired both Mike and myself. We grew up in the 90’s, and so much about that decade influenced Akomplice. The 90’s found Wu-Tang releasing 36 Chambers, Quintin Tarantino dropping Pulp Fiction, Nirvana giving the world Nevermind, Bill Clinton getting harassed about getting head, and Jim Carey performing in Dumb and Dumber – it was a great time. Thank all of you who have supported the brand over the last 10 years, much love. The anniversary release drops Thursday, July 10th at 10:00pm EST and will be limited to our Webstore and Flagship store in Santa Barbara, CA. Check out more photos of the capsule after the jump.
