A3C Loves Akomplice

Catch Lungs

“Just arrived home from one of the craziest weeks of my life at the A3C festival in Atlanta, Georgia. My trip started as I awoke at 4:45am on a Tuesday morning to arrive at the airport gate just in time to board my flight from Denver to Atlanta. I landed in Atlanta and the southern hospitality automatically surrounded and I felt right at home. I took a cab into the city as my journey with Akomplice was just beginning. When I got to the hotel, I set up shop, then I was out the door in a flash to checkout the venue. This year, the A3C festival was held at a spot called The Masquerade. The Masquerade is almost like a castle with all its different rooms and it’s rocky interior; I loved it. Some say it’s haunted (http://www.hauntedhovel.com/themasquerade.html), I think it definitely could be. When I got to The Masquerade, I had to find a dope place to set up the Akomplice booth… Somewhere, where there would be a lot of traffic, so that I could get the most exposure possible. My good friend Andrea with A3C helped me find the perfect spot to set up and I felt confident that the area we chose was the right one. It was time to go back to the hotel, put one in the air, and explore the city. I was surprised to find out my good friends Two Fresh (@TwoFreshbeats) were playing a show at King Plow in Atlanta the very same night I landed! I gathered up a few of my personal Akomplice VSOP snapbacks to share with the crew, so they could rock them on tour. The show was really dope for a Tuesday night. By the time Two Fresh went on, the place was packed with tons of kids dancing and showing love for the crew. They had a great set, then it was off to party all night with the crew in Uptown. Shots of Patron, blunts and joints of some good, and it was almost 5am… AKA time to pass out and get ready for a big day ahead of me.

Wednesday I woke up ready to take over the world. Tasks for the day involved visiting Ikea to grab all of the necessary items for the Akomplice set up, as well as rolling through to the Big K.R.I.T. (@bigkrit) video shoot where my friends 8Ball (@DAREAL_8ball ) & MJG (@pimptypemjg ) were on the set to do their part in the song. Check the song (also ft. 2Chainz) on youtube here – http://youtu.be/KNKOk7Frab4 . The video shoot was the shit! It was at Blue Flame strip club in Atlanta where K.R.I.T. was accompanied by family, friends and aquintances as the high production video was put together. Before I got to the shoot, Nelly and T.I. stopped through to show some love as well. Shout out to Big Sant (@BigSANT) for the props on the Jiggly Puff necklace, much appreciated bro!

Thursday began as I awoke from 3 hours of sleep to begin setting up the Akomplice booth. With the help of my good friend Lana and a few of her trusty volunteers, it took me a good 4 hours to get everything up and in place… and it was looking amazing. The Akomplice booth popped off in a great way gaining a lot of attention due to the perfect spot right next to the mainstage. Thursday’s performances included Diamond D, Ying Yang Twins, Freeway, Random Axe, Rapper Big Pooh, J-Live, One Be Lo, and many more. One Be Lo (@OneBeLo) stopped through to cop the AK Brigade tee… super fresh!

Friday was a big day at A3C, with names like 9th Wonder, Skyzoo, Big K.R.I.T., Freddie Gibbs, The ReMINDers and Jean Grae. The Akomplice merchandise was flying off the shelves all day with people like Kno of Cunninlynuists (@Kno), Skyzoo (@TheRealSkyzoo), Termanology (@TermanologyST), Statik Selektah (@StatiKSelekt) & many more artists swinging through throughout the day.

Saturday was a blast! I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to take over A3C for one more day. On saturday there were acts by M.O.P., Ras Kass, Huey Mack, Termanology, Elzhi, Dead Prez, YDB, Fashawn, Donny Goines, Big Daddy Kane, and many more. The high points of the day for me were getting to perform a freestyle onstage with Donny Goines over the ATLiens beat, and hearing that Termanology rocked Akomplice on his headlining set, as well as on M.O.P.’s set !! And on another great note, I pretty much SOLD OUT of Akomplice by the time saturday was over!

After I got everything packed up on Sunday, it was time to explore Atlanta while I still had time. Accompanied by my friend Aleshea who is from Atlanta, we stopped by Wish, which in my opinion is the hottest store out there, and they had Akomplice on display along with the dopest shoe room/rooms I’ve ever seen. After visiting Wish it was time to head back to the hotel and get some sleep before my 6AM flight back to Denver.

My trip to Atlanta was a one of a kind experience that I will never forget. Shout out to Akomplice, A3C, and my manager Dan Lafferman for helping me make this happen. Next year let’s do it BIGGER!!!”
